In 2001, Fox Family Worldwide (owned by Fox and Saban) was sold to Disney, which included their 75% stake in Fox Kids Europe, which was a publicly traded company on the Euronext Amsterdam stock exchange. During the shares sale it was agreed that Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation (simply known as "Fox") granted Fox Kids Europe a trademark licence without a fixed term to use the “Fox Kids” name and related logos without material charge. This was the reason why the Disney majority owned company was able to use the Fox Kids name in Europe even as late as June 2005 which was when the last Fox Kids in Europe, Fox Kids Germany made the full transition to the Disney owned Jetix brand.
